Anjana Data provides the keys to Data Mesh at the first edition of the Data Management Summit in LATAM

Yesterday, 20 September 2022, saw the first edition of the Data Management Summit in LATAM, a meeting aimed at CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Data Directors and all types of professionals and experts from the Data Community. Anjana Data was Gold Sponsor of the event, and contributed all his experience through a success story and his participation in one of the most prominent round tables of the meeting.
Anjana Data sponsored the speech by Eduard Gil Carbo, CDO in the Hospital of the Holy Cross and Saint Paul, in which he highlighted the problems and challenges faced by an organisation when implementing a Data Governance model, focusing more on processes and people than on technology. Among the challenges for change management, the CDO highlighted the resolution and definition of terms through a Business Glossary, the involvement of the entire organisation, the contribution of value to the information recorded in the systems that are generated daily, and the lack of resources and data management in the organisation, among others. Thanks to the implementation of Anjana Data, the Hospital de Sant Pau has been able to tackle all these issues, focusing on the importance of data quality.
Mario de Francisco Ruiz, Chief Executive Officer of Anjana Data, participated in the round table discussion ‘Data Mesh vs Data Fabric’ next to Fernando Mateo, Vice Dean, Higher Polytechnic School and Nebrija Business School at Nebrija University; Michele Iurillo, Country Manager Spain & Latin America at Irion; Santiago Javier Rosero Valarezo, Head of Corporate Data Management at Pichincha Corp; and Ray Ludeña, Head of Data Architecture at Banco BCP, as moderator.
During the conversation, the CEO of Anjana Data emphasised that “the Data Mesh is not a technical or technological issue, but rather a much more organisational and architectural one., but data, not IT architecture.”. He went on to say that “Data architecture, as DAMA tells us, lies between business architecture and application architecture. It is, in a way, what translates those business needs into data implementations, which are then technical software implementations.”.
Mario de Francisco concluded by stating that “Data Mesh is a vision that data can serve many purposes, not just one use case. When to implement this depends greatly on the company's level of maturity.”. In addition, his last intervention at the table was to highlight the importance of organisations focusing on persons and in the processes, before moving on to that final step, which is technology.
Anjana Data will also be Gold Sponsor in the third Spanish edition of the DMS, to be held on 19 and 20 October 2022. For this event, the registrations, and in the coming days we will announce the agenda along with all the details of the meeting, which will be held in a hybrid format in Madrid and online.
